On Saturday, October 3, downtown Livingston, Tennessee will be bustling with plein air painters, art enthusiasts and art-curious folks during the third annual Paint Livingston Plein Air Event & Art Sale.
The centerpiece of this event will be 25 top plein air painters from around the country and throughout Tennessee who will set up their easels in and around Livingston Tuesday through Saturday, September 29 - October 3, to paint and compete for $10,000 in cash prizes.
This year we've added a new $2,000 Best-of-Show Award, a new $2,000 Fellow Artists' Award for Body of Work, and a new Open Division for the Quick Paint mini-competition on Saturday, Oct 3, from 9-11am.
Make plans now to attend the Patron's Preview Reception & Sale Friday evening, Oct 2. The main exhibit and sale is free and open to the public on Saturday, Oct 3, from 1-4pm.

Jurors: Marc Anderson and Debra Joy Groesser
We're excited to announce our two jurors for Paint Livingston 2026: Marc Anderson and Debra Joy Groesser!
Marc Anderson is an exciting young talent who burst onto the national scene in the last five years. Collectors, critics, plein air event attendees, and fellow artists have all fallen in love with this exceptional artist.
In 2021, Anderson was included in the Top 10 Artists to Collect Now special feature in Plein Air Magazine. His work has also garnered awards from prestigious shows around the country including a Gold Medal Award from the Oil Painters of America Easter Regional Exhibition, the Dorothy Driehaus Mellin Fellowship, the Best-of-Show Award at Door County Plein Air 2025, and Artist Choice Award at the OPA National Exhibition.
Debra Joy Groesser has been captivating collectors and art lovers of all kinds for two decades. Few artists nationwide are as beloved and admired as Groesser.
She is a Signature Member and Chairman of the Board of the American Impressionist Society, a national 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization. She is also a Master Signature Member of Plein Air Artists Colorado, Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, Laguna Plein Air Painters and American Plains Artists, and an artist member of Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.
Judge: Shelby Keefe
The judge for Paint Livingston 2026 is nationally acclaimed, award-winning painter Shelby Keefe. Keefe hails from Wisconsin and describes her multi-faceted work as expressive realism.
She has participated in museum shows, top-tiered plein air painting competitions nationwide and has attained Signature Status in Oil Painters of America and American Impressionist Society. Keefe has been published numerous times in well-known art magazines--being featured as the cover artist in both Southwest Art and Plein Air magazines.
She has become sought after as an instructor, teaching workshops around the country and serving as faculty for the annual Plein Air Convention & Expo.
